It was a risk, but we had to try. The wind was just too much. having arrived at the first major col and having taken a detour to avoid the gales we decided that this was not for us. Another party seemed to continue, but to us this idea of being on the Saddle or anywhere else for that matter in those conditions was just foolhardy. So we took a few photos, headed towards Eilean Donan in the hope of a snack at the Jack O Bite which was closed so we had a nice lunch in Balnacara Square. On the way we saw some of the feral goats that were mentioned on the road signs.
In the afternoon we had a nice trip to Portree on the Isle of Skye where we did some shopping and had a snack. After Portree we took a drive to Uig and stocked up on beer at the Isle of Skye Brewery.
