Another trip on the water. We chose to skip a potentially very good day in the hills for a potentially good day on a boat trip to Coruisk from Elgol on the Isle of Skye.
After a nice snack at the village hall our boat took us across out past Camasunary and the new bothy, with a stop to look at passing porpoise and a view of the Island of Rhum. The guide gave us a nice talk along the way and we paused near the “bad Step” on the walk from Coruisk back to Camasunary so we could watch people nervously scrambling over the exposed crack that is an essential part of the route back overland.
It brought back memories of our own walk along this route in 2007 when we were accompanied by two dogs which had to be helped across this difficult section. We amused others on the boat by recalling how one of the dogs ran away up he hill and was coaxed back with a sausage. As usual there were seals basking on the rock as we approached the landing place.
The weather was superb and perfect for some excellent photographs.
