As I recall we planned to spend a week camping in Wasdale. We took the old family tent that had belonged to my parents. My Austin Maxi was a useful car because it had a fair amount of room.

It rained and rained and rained. On one day we avoided the weather and took a trip on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. We abandoned the camp mid week and went to stay with Bob for a few nights. We saw Henry V at the RSC (with Kenneth Branagh and Brian Blessed, no less) and we had an evening trip to the Albert Hall for a promenade concert. On one day we explored the Malvern Hills.

Not to be outdone, we had a second trip in 1986 when we rented a flat in Keswick. Another set of pictures will be needed.

Wasdale
Camp picture 1. Betsy and I have used that tent a number of times since then. We gave it away about 5 years ago,
Camp picture 2. Note that our clothes are drying on the line! Maybe this was after our wet and foggy Great Gable hike.
I think that this is another view of the campground, but looking west.

The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. I believe that originally this had been built for mining use to get ore to the sea, but it has been turned into a cute tourist train
Train spotting
I think this must be Ravenglass, but I don’t really know
Probably the estuary of the Esk
Malvern Hills
Possibly Malvern again
