Four weeks: 3 1/2 in Scotland, 1/2 in England. For the first part we were joined by our friend Rini Kester.

  • 10 April flew to Edinburgh
  • 11 and 12 April stayed in Aberfeldy, on 12 April Climbed Meall Chuaich – Rini’s first Munro. We stayed at one of our favourite B&Bs; Tigh N Eilean Guest House
  • 13 April – 20 April Stayed with our big group of friends impeccably organised as usual by Phil Broughton.
  • 20 – April- 4 May stayed in in Balnacara, near Kyle of Lochalsh at a splendid self-catering bungalow; Varis. We were joined by Jesper Jorgensen for 14 nights, Bob Ingram for 7 nights, Heather Wills and David Ward for 3 nights.
  • 4 May – 6 May stayed with Gail Vickers in York. Tony Gregory joined us for the stay, Jesper was there for one night.
  • 6- May – 8 May stayed at the Premier Inn, Piccadilly Manchester. On 7 May cleaned up Gordon’s family grave in Crompton cemetery, had lunch and a walk at Hollingworth Lake with Chris and Heather Beddows and had dinner with Janet and John Mitchell. Flew home on 8 May.

An excellent trip, mostly good weather, but windy on the summits on several occasions. Betsy added 9 Munros to her list bringing her total to 110. Gordon added 8 Munros and 1 repeat to his list, bringing his total to 142.

In addition here were boat trips, lazy days and sightseeing expeditions – no shortage of good food, wine and beer.
